For our art portion, we put ourselves in the shoes of a 1980's rock band who just had a breakthrough. Our song coincides with our English portion, seen below, where we talk about the 12 years of school we've been through and all the good and hard times that came with it. We used contextualization in our song by having the mood of the song change throughout the song, for example, in some portions, it was very high energy and represents how we felt in school, having fun and being with our friends. After that, the song slows down, which shows that high school was fun while it lasted, but now we feel sentimental now that it's over.
English
For our English portion, we decided to write lyrics and annotate them. We also picked our favorite bands and annotated a few songs by them. We analyzed how most bands used personal life experiences to influence their lyrics, and so we did the same thing. A few lines directly relate to us and our personal experiences, while others are more broad and allude to our school journey.
Social Studies
For our Social Studies portion, we decided to take our lives in the modern world, and contextualizing ourselves in the 1980's as a rock band. We wanted to expand upon our dreams and put ourselves into the shoes of a successful rock band.
